Mentoring based on 'Leadership of the Heart'

WFWP Australia's 'Leading into the Future' mentor program is a 6-month leadership program from June to December, matching emerging leaders with established leaders. Participants commit to 1-on-1 mentoring and monthly online workshops. Mentors volunteer their expertise to bridge the leadership gap experienced by today's professional women.

The value of mentoring goes way beyond the boosting of individual careers. It provides a means for knowledge transfer across generations and professions, understanding universal values, and gaining ‘soft power’ skills of peace building and reconciliation that are essential for today’s leaders.

Young Businesswomen

We are entering an era where the role of women as peace builders in all sectors is needed more than ever.

“It is well established that the economic empowerment of women isn't just good for women, it's good for everyone. Likewise, there is a growing body of evidence (including the latest report by McKinsey & Co) showing that when more women sit at the decision-making tables, better decisions are made.

Despite record numbers of women graduating college and entering the workforce, data still points to a 'leaky pipeline' - a large chasm between the number of women starting out on the professional track and how many advancing to senior positions.  One of the many ways we can help to 'leak-proof' this pipeline is through mentoring.

A 2017 study by professional services firm Egon Zehnder found that only 54% of women have access to senior leaders who act as mentors or informal sponsors in their career.”  Mentoring Matters "

Leading into the Future Mentor Program

1.  Mentoring outside the workplace - open to leaders in the wider community.

2.  A resilient leadership Network that:

  •  Amplifies the feminine qualities women naturally bring to leadership.

  •  Advocates for gender equality and sustainable peace.

  •  Empowers women leaders for peace building through a  culture of the heart.

  •  Promotes a philosophy of ‘living for the sake of others’ through giving back.

  •  Increases personal and organisation performance by developing leadership styles with a ‘culture of heart’.

  •  Offers leadership connections for women from CALD, Aboriginal and disability backgrounds, who continue to miss out on high level leadership and decision making.

3. Quality leadership framework based on universally shared values that fosters successful intergender partnerships by:

  • Providing women and men with a framework to enhance leadership skills to create harmonious relationships and promote peacebuilding.

  • Increasing access to leadership opportunities through the Network.

What people are saying!

“As a young leader, being exposed to people who are in positions where I see myself in the future is so enriching and adds so much enlightenment to the approaches I take in decision making. My mentor from GWPN helped me recognize changes I needed to implement within myself, because before you go out to change the world, you need to change yourself first.

This 6-month self-development journey I shared with my mentor gave me guidance, but it inspired me to look beyond my current skills and aspire to be better for not just myself, but for those who look up to me as their leader.

I would love to recommend the program to anyone, no matter the age or experience.  Overall, the experience was 10/10 and completely life changing.”

“The Women In Leadership program was a great experience. I was paired with a perfect mentor who had done a similar course, and I couldn’t have asked for someone better. Through fortnightly calls that were focused on personal development, I learnt about ways I can honour myself through good habits as well as how to communicate with others in a leadership role.

There were a range of tools I was introduced to, and I still reference them today in my work as a team leader. It is also a chance to get to know yourself better by being vulnerable in a safe space.
I would highly recommend this program to anyone interested in leadership or self-development in general.

There are many inspiring mentors engaged in the program who want the best for you and love to see you grow.”

“As a mentor in the Leading into the Future Mentor Program, I am honoured to have the privilege of guiding and supporting emerging leaders to develop their leadership skills and promote a culture of the heart.

Through this program, I have been given the opportunity to share my extensive experiences and insights as an established leader and coach.

Being part of a resilient leadership network that amplifies feminine qualities in leadership, empowers women leaders, and provides genuine leadership connections for women to thrive is a source of immense pride.

I am humbled to be a part of this program and the positive impact it has on the next generation of leaders.”
