About The Event

UN International Day of Peace and Bridge of Peace: through education and public awareness events such as this one, the United Nations endeavours to strengthen the ideals of peace among all of the world's inhabitants and urges all hostilities to stop, worldwide. The theme for 2018 is 'The Right to Peace'.

To commemorate and honour this day, WFWP Australia holds a one-day conference annually. This is held across the Australia Chapters in VIC, NSW, and QLD. The one-day conference is sponsored by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) and the Women's Federation for World Peace (WFWP), in cooperation with their partner organisations. Partner organisations for 2018 are: The World Peace Prayer Society, the Nelson Mandela Day Commemorative Committee, and Hands for Peace.

The event includes participants being involved into the Bridge of Peace ceremony: an empowering ceremony that enables personal bridges of reconciliation and healing. It is an opportunity to connect in heart with someone from a different cultural background, heal wounds of the past, build lasting friendships, and resolve conflict passed on from generation to generation.

A signature project of WFWP International.

Entry price includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. RSVP essential for catering. RSVP online or contact Anne at: anne@wfwpaustralia.org
